As Board Chair of Rooftop Capital, Mr. Marshall advises and provides general guidance to the leadership team with respect to strategy, capital raising and overall growth of the firm.

Mr. Marshall is a seasoned real asset and finance professional based in Toronto where he currently acts as a financial advisor to institutional clients in North America and England. In this capacity, Mr. Marshall assists leadership teams with the sourcing and structuring of debt and both public and private equity capital, with a focus on real estate and infrastructure assets.

Mr. Marshall has over 25 years of real assets and finance experience, primarily developed during his time as head of corporate finance for Brookfield Asset Management. In this capacity, he was responsible for the global corporate finance activities and oversaw all financings in each core region and business line. Throughout his 16 years with Brookfield, Mr. Marshall completed in excess of US$100 billion in debt and equity transactions.

More recently, Mr. Marshall served for three years as the Executive Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Ontario Municipal Employee Retirement System (‘‘OMERS’’) where he led the growth of the pension fund’s infrastructure and real estate strategic equity partnerships.

Mr. Marshall acts as a strategic advisor to the Willowdale group of companies and also serves as a director and investment committee member for four other companies: Board Chair of Granite REIT (a $6B TMX and NYSE listed industrial and logistics REIT), Power Sustainable LIOS (private equity sustainable foods), Onex Falcon Private Debt BDC, and Pomerleau Capital / Borea Renewable Construction.

Mr. Marshall has completed the Competent Boards ESG certificate program and is about to begin his first term as a voluntary investment committee member for the Toronto Atmospheric Fund.

Mr. Marshall graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with an Honours degree in Business Administration.
